First Field Trip
During the summer we have more students than through the school year. We have many school age kids that come to Freedom Baptist Day School for the summer. As a result, we take the Pre-K students and the School-Age students on fieldtrips throughout the summer. Here are pictures of one of our first field trips of the year. We took a trip to Sunnyday Greenhouse, in Weyers Cave, where we learned all about the different types of flowers that grow this time of year. We also learned how to handle the dirt properly to ensure the best results from your planting. Each of the kids were able to plant their own sunflower seed to take back to the center with them. In addition, they sent us back to our center with flowers, tomato and watermelon plants to plant and observe through the summer. After leaving the greenhouse we went to Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton for lunch and spent the afternoon at the pool. It was a fun time for all!! Unfortunately the only camera I had on me was the one on my phone. The pictures could be better.
